I don't know how long this party train is gonna go, but I'm here for it. I've been a Chiefs fan since '04 and been rooting for them through all the ups and downs. In the off season, it feels weird for analysts to say KC has become a destination. I'm very happy to be in the Chiefs Kingdom :)

Chiefs probably gave Taylor a large singing bonus to avoid a large cap hit for this season and if they restructure Chris Jones and do the same thing it could free up a ton of cap space. Mahomes make Orlando Brown looked good especially in pass blocking. Orlando gets beat a lot by speedy pass rusher. Brown is an elite run blocker. Jawaan Taylor has higher upside than Orlando. He will settle in Left Tacke with Pro-Bowl Thuney right next to him at LG so the transition will be easy!

I love it. Could be a slight overpay, but one that I think will be worth it. He fits the system nicely. And since he’ll be moved to LT, which I trust that he’ll be able to do, he’ll be lined up right next to Joe Thuney, which will help tremendously. And he’s still young and improving. Definitely an upgrade over Orlando Brown. And cheaper than Brown wanted. Great move honestly.

Anyone who knows anything about this would recognize that Taylor is a better player for the Chiefs to have. Brown would be better for a team that runs the ball more. If he was actually better than Taylor like you think he is, Chiefs wouldn’t have hesitated to give him what he wanted. It’s just that simple.

Because by your logic, Brown is better in every way that matters. The whole point is that Brown was lacking in pass protection, so he wasn’t worth the money. And hell, nobody else has signed him yet.
