I don't understand how he can watch the entire interview and say Rodgers made the decision out of spite, he made it clear that when he came out of the darkness he wanted to play football, then heard the Packers didnt want him so he wanted a trade
15 дней назадartis1969
@Katherine Freeborn The Mcafee segment was pretty full of contradictions from Rodgers. He had a feeling in the last part of the season that they wanted to move on. Then he comes out of the dark and claims something changed. Which is it? He took the customary time to consider his future. Green Bay knows this is the annual ritual and abides by it. Now Rodgers says the organization should have told him back in January their intentions. Which is it? He claims players aren't treated right in their exit from GB. They respond with the richest contract in history and bring in Cobb as per his "suggestion." They keep Cobb and senior citizen Marcedes on the team multiple seasons to placate Rodgers. I totally believe Rodgers believes what he's saying. I wouldn't even say he's lying. But he knows how to tell an account that may not include other pieces to the story. He does this because he fully understands how bad it looks when an organization responds in public. It's bad pub nearly 100% of the time. So while GB must keep it close to the vest, Rodgers knows he can say anything he wants without reprisal. So who exactly is doing who wrong on the way out the door?
14 дней назадKatherine Freeborn +2
@Ken Scaletta very well said. Just because he isn't providing information doesn't mean any of the other parties involved aren't providing the details that get reported. Why would he be mad? The reporters are doing the very thing he claims they don't do which is follow up on the information being provided by the other sources and confirming accuracy. His attempts at debunking reports always come across as so petty and most of the time he actually confirms everything to be true, just in different words.
15 дней назадAndrew Stutz +1
So wrong, he said he was 90% retiring he only decided to play when Green Bay made it apparent they were moving on.
15 дней назадMike Ross +34
The curse of having an aging all-time great QB that the franchise wants to move on from. As a Bears fan all I can say is, LUCKY.
15 дней назадMatt G +48
Whose not surprised that every mainstream show is going to continue to crap on Aaron for not playing their game? ✋
15 дней назадHY Kung Fu +32
The reason why Rodgers won't talk to certain reporters is because they manipulate stuff. The same reason Marshawn Lynch hated most reporters. The whole idea that he demanded those players he wants Jets to sign just proves it

Or maybe they don't let him manipulate stuff.

Its absolutely insulting that NFL media is still trying to blame Aaron for their made up storylines and assumptions being completely incorrect. So salty that they have been exposed as fake news.

He literally said multiple times there were no bad feelings or malice towards the Packers. I cant believe you guys think the Skip Bayless approach to sounding like an idiot and creating some sort of hatred and spite is necessary. Not to mention, we heard from GB.....while he was on his weird ass darkness retreat. Disappointing take all around Kyle.

I think he said that when Rodgers was in the darkness
15 дней назадLT_Northwest +50
He clearly said he was 90% retiring BEFORE going in, then changed his mind DURING the darkness. Not after he found out the Packers were moving on. Sucks this show will be heard more than Aaron's actual interview
15 дней назадMark Sawyer +1
The way I heard Rodgers describe it, he was surprised when he came out of the darkness that the Packers had moved on, when he had been left with the impression that they were going to allow him to process before coming to their own decision. Clearly, they violated that understanding by jumping the gun, and so when Rodgers came out expecting a conversation, there was none to be had. Where was his mind football-wise at that moment? I don't actually remember him saying...
14 дней назадLT_Northwest
@Derek Brandell an unedited, hour long conversation (which you'll never see that format, on a network) is propaganda? Pat's style allows all his guests to be themselves, hating the format makes no sense. It's why he has players/guests lined up at his door to be on the show. Unedited
14 дней назадDerek Brandell
Bro, take it easy with the hyperbole. Go look at the views, McAfees show gets more views than this NFL network show. That corny propaganda interview he did is getting air on every channel. All the poor Aaron was wronged by the mean packers is his narrative.

15 дней назадCK_IDGAF +9
Rodgers was right to point out that he had already made his decision known to the Packers. And i get why he threw shade at Schefner, cause he does a lot of guessing and passes it on as fact or info. Plus I highly doubt the Raiders had a REAL shot at AR12, he is not stupid, he saw that o-line and defense, hell, defense side of the ball has been one of the things he has criticized the Packers for. Also, the Packers don't have to say anything, they just need to WIN without him and show they were right in moving on. You guys seem to want more drama.
15 дней назадBone Doc +4
Once again, taking things said out of context. He went in 90/10 retirement. After his process decided he wanted to play, THEN heard the team was shopping him. He didn't decide he wanted to play after. Anything for headline drama with these so-called pundits.
15 дней назадLam Lam
Aarron Rodgers spiting the Packers is weird. First they draft a QB in the first round, so he proceeds to win them a bunch of games in back to back MVP seasons. Then when they want to get rid of him, instead of retiring, he decides he wants to play so the Packers can clear his contract and get at least a draft pick for him. Sick burns bro.
15 дней назадPhil Obresil
Haters will always be Haters...Nothing sad about what Rodgers said.
15 дней назадDennis Razzmatazz +4
The Packers clearly gave Rodgers permission to have the entire Jets staff come to his house. If they really wanted to stick it to Rodgers they could hold his contract hostage until September 1st. There is always two sides to the story!
15 дней назадDennis Razzmatazz
@FedexHimself Right on I had read somewhere that September 1st was a hard date for them. I stand corrected ✌️🤝
14 дней назадElegant Hood
The problem is that both teams are over salary cap but Green Bay has leverage because they want a monster deal for Aaron Rodgers but the Jets don't want that and the Jets just signed Allen Lazard to a $44 Year deal with $22 Guaranteed. so we'll see the 2023 draft between both the Jets and Packers and who they both get and whether Aaron will Request/demand a trade or not.

15 дней назадZein
It takes a lot for a 39 year old to commit to another season of professional sports. It's a lot of work and after all those years the mental strain must be exhausting. There's a reason why the average NFL time is 3 years and why sports are dominated by young people. Guys like Barry Bonds, LeBron and Tom Brady have warped expectations in many aspects. Last year, Tom Brady played with the son of a former teammate. That's exceptional. Of course, there is a lot of money involved but it doesn't mean that two cannot be true at the same time. The money might be the motivating factor and the desire to play might have been regenerated after a couple of weeks.

Any contract between Rodgers and the Jets must include that Rodgers changes his first name to Bennie. This way the Jets can pipe in Elton John's song "Bennie and the Jets."
15 дней назадElColin
Why is this SO reminiscent of Favre's exit? I am a lifelong Packers fan. I remember the Favre ending. It's like a Green Bay QB curse: get so close to the Super Bowl the last few years, or last year, talk about retirement, have a guy sitting on the bench for 2-3yrs waiting to play, then when Packers decide to move on, now you wanna play, and to go to the Jets, JUST LIKE Favre? Does no one see the similarities here? LOL and the last year Favre had, there was a game that season that Rodgers came in and almost helped the Packers win against Dallas who was on fire that year. Same thing happened this year with Love coming in and almost winning against an on-fire Eagles team. WHAT ARE THE FREAKING ODDS?! lol

There isn’t any spite😂 he came out of his retreat having decided to play again. It was AFTER he decided to play again that he heard the packers were shopping him after telling him prior to his retreat that they want him back and to take his time making his decision. I get that he is back and forth the last couple of years on retiring or playing, but he was always transparent about the fact that he needed to take time to decide if he wants to go another round. He’s completely justified to be irked that the packers told him one thing (take your time we want you back) and then did another (went and offered him up to the jets). All of this while the packers knew he wasn’t able to know what’s going on because he was in a darkness retreat where you don’t have your phone or other means of communication. In a weird sense of irony that feels like the packers being spiteful of him for not giving them a decision on their terms and in their timeline, so they go behind his back and push him out the door while he’s not paying attention.
15 дней назадBarbara Kimball
He'd been alluding to the possibility of a trade for a few months now and he can't really be mad that the Packers were working on contingency plans while he drug his feet on making a decision. He doesn't own the team, the org needs to put plans in place whether they intended to follow through on them or not. The writing was on the wall anyway, even as a fan you could see the vibe shift between last off season and this one. Rodgers didn't want to be there and the Packers were ready to move on, it's that simple.
14 дней назадKatherine Freeborn
Hey remember when he was at Pebble Beach a week before the darkness retreat and talking about all the teams he was thinking about going to? Or does that kinda prove he is an unreliable narrator and his "truth" is not necessarily the actual truth.

What did Aaron Rodgers Expect? Teams are getting tired of these older (but good) players (mostly QBs) holding them hostage at the end of each year. They're a business and they have decisions to make. The most major of which is who is going to be under center. Can't ask them to wait around while you "go black" and "find yourself" then be mad when they're made decisions without you.
15 дней назадBone Doc

Who put the packers in this position? Themselves. If they are truly fed up with him doing it every year, why sign him for 3 years? I’m a diehard packers fan and I saw it was over when they lost that playoff game to the 9ers. But apparently the front office didn’t so they created this entire problem themselves. But to say take your time we want you back then flip when he’s in darkness, that’s cowardly.

Anyone else tired/annoyed with headlines that Aaron Rodgers is unhappy - for about the last 4 straight seasons.? It's always about HIM. Me, I, mine, me me me me. I'd rather pull for a team that's doing its best to get wins and a playoff spot than being a fan of a team with a QB who is eternally disgruntled and unpleasant. Yeah he's great. But wherever he is or goes, his upkeep and baggage brings with it great costs. He's not an ambassador for the game, or the Pack or the Jets - he exists for himself. That's my perception from a distance anyway. Retire already and stop defecating on your teammates and fan base.

The GB organization is a incompetent and wholly bolluxed kind of operation. You have inexperience in all positions, so the young GM wants to make his mark and trades up to get a LUVduv; when they are missing a piece and losing in the NFC championship game, Arodj has 13 win seasons and homefield advantage, and the Gooty kiss wants a QB so throws away draft capital to get to a super bowl for a QB that won't play a down for 3yrs....this is the style of thinking in a mismanaged operation. Now, we have another domino to fall due to the mismanagement, and it does not get prettier in this morass of incompetence. Now, you could say ARodj is an employee and should suck it up, and deal with the incompetence. Well, Arodj has pretty much sucked it up and has been a very good employee, a first ballot HOF QB, and super bowl ring. GB has a problem a big problem and its not Arodj.

15 дней назадDennis Razzmatazz
@Stephen T He needs to go on Desperate Housewives with all this. Says there is misinformation but then proceeds to tell reporters directly “lose my number”. Says he’s 90% retired then goes on a “darkness” retreat and now all of a sudden wants to play and blames the Packers for moving forward. Clearly his ego is still bruised from the day they drafted Love. He insisted on clarifying that he was an MVP over and over yesterday, had to clarify that he is “the best player in franchise history”. The Packers front office hasn’t said a word, and he claims he wants to keep everything in house but then he goes on national radio and dogs the packers so clearly he doesn’t want everything “in house”. If he really did he wouldn’t say a word. Also says he didn’t give Jets a “wish list” but says he did tell them what he thinks of playing with different players. The whole thing to me comes off as very condescending, the fact that this news is all the buzz is proof in itself that this all stirred up drama. Just my opinion on the matter, not expecting agreement. 🤘🤝

Aaron says he'd rather speak for himself than through leaks and NFL Insiders and has been doing Pat's show once a week for like 3 years now and has been pretty consistent on his relationship with NFL Insiders. He doesn't like words being put in his mouth. Adam Schefter has consistently put words in his mouth and has reported his (Schefter's) personal speculations about other people's major career decisions as actual facts. Aaron has an outlet to be his own public representative on Pat's show as well as lend some credentials as a must watch sports show to his former teammates and friends sports program. Neither he nor ANY player owes Adam Schefter information especially when Schefter has screwed them over in the past. I don't see why him telling Schefter to lose his number is a big deal.

Another person putting words into his mouth. That's not what I heard. Coming out of the retreat, he changed inside & was leaning toward playing.
